(Without distinction of sex.) 2 A common term for the two longitudinal timbers of a gāḍā or load-cart. 3 A form of float. It ordinarily has two gourds in the fore part and two behind. āpalēṃ ghōḍēṃ ḍhakalaṇēṃ-hākaṇēṃ-ghālaṇēṃ--To push forward one's own business; to be selfish. 2 To interrupt conversation by obtruding one's own observations. ghōḍēṃ khāī bhāḍēṃ The horse is eating his head off. Used when the expenses of conducting a business exceed the advantages resulting from it. ghōḍēṃ thakaṇēṃ g. of s. To be tired out; to be stopped or brought to a stand; to be done up (in traveling, trade, business, study). mājhēṃ ghōḍēṃ āṇi jāūṃ dē puḍhēṃ Let my business be done whatever happens. Phrase used in reproving selfishness.
