Terms for high-sounding, blustering, or vaunting talk; irrelevant and evasive speech; pretences or deceptive excuses; rant, rhapsody, rodomontade, rigmarole. 2 Applied also, in the lawlessness of Indian poets, to the operations (in declining, conjugating, classifying, discriminating &c.) of grammarians, logicians &c.; poets affecting to view these labors as fuss, bustle, pother, and empty ado. Ex. nalagē vyākaraṇācī nyāyācī ghaṭapaṭādi khaṭapaṭa tī || vaikuṇṭhapēṇṭha mōṭhī || nāṃvāvari hīnadīna khaṭapaṭati ||. (A bright and pure sentiment!)
