Source: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)Gejjihalli is an archaeologically important site situated in Hangal-taluk (Dharwar district), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Gejjihalli there is a slab set up in the Śiva temple that records gift of land to Sthānapati Someśvara Paṇdita for offerings to two deities in the temple of Mūlasthāna at Gejjeyahalli by Boppa Gāvuṇḍa of the Gejje family. This inscription belongs to king Tribhuvanamalla (Vikramāditya VI) of the Western Chālukya dynasty and is dated Śaka 1026 (1103 A.C., October 15).
