gdams ngag (གདམས་ངག) (also: gdams) (Tibetan; in Sanskrit: avavāda) — (lit. “Instruction”) — Like guidelines, praxis, and special instructions, a specifically focused set of teachings imparted by a guru to a disciple or disciples
gdams ngag (གདམས་ངག) refers to the “practice advice” of Dromtönpa who had three main disciples.—Accordindly, Chengawa Tsultrim Bar (spyan snga tshul khrims 'bar) (1033-1103) was the main holder of Dromtönpa's lineage of teachings on emptiness, practice advice (gdams ngag) and Tantra.

Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (vajrayāna) are collected indepently.
