Gauḍīrīti (गौडीरीति) or simply Gauḍī refers to one of the three types of Rīti (‘dictions’), as employed in the Bhīṣmacarita (Bhishma Charitra) which is a mahākāvya (‘epic poem’) written by Hari Narayan Dikshit.—In wide contrast to [vaidarbhīrīti], there is the second one, the ‘gauḍīrīti’ which may be termed as the bombastic style.
