Source: Wisdomlib Libary: GandhaśāstraGandhayakṣa (गन्धयक्ष) refers to the preseding deity of Gandhaśāstra (science of cosmetics and perfumery) according to Gaṅgādhara, author of the Gandhasāra. Gandhayakṣa is a demigod attending upon Śiva and is praised by Gaṅgādhara at the beginning of his work together with Śiva, Gaṇapati and Sarasvatī.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
