方等泥洹經 [fang deng ni huan jing]—"(Fāngděng Níhuán Jīng)"—[Scripture Name]
An alternative name (異名 [yi ming]) for the "般泥洹經 [ban ni huan jing] (Bānnníhuán Jīng)". It consists of two volumes (二卷 [er juan]) and its translator is unknown (失譯 [shi yi]). It is a record of the Buddha's Nirvana (佛之涅槃記 [fu zhi nie pan ji]) transmitted by the Mahayana school (大乘家 [da cheng jia]). It is largely similar but with minor differences (大同小異 [da tong xiao yi]) to the "大般涅槃經 [da ban nie pan jing] (Dàbān Níhuán Jīng)" translated by Faxian (法顯 [fa xian]) (which is categorized within the Hinayana section (小乘部 [xiao cheng bu])).
