法前得 [fa qian de]—(fǎ qián dé) — [Term] One of the three types of attainments. It is also called 牛王引前得 [niu wang yin qian de] (niú wáng yǐn qián dé) (King-Ox Leading Attainment). This refers to the principle, like an ox walking in front of a cart, where one is able to attain the Dharma that comes from being led forward. We attain various 善惡之法 [shan e zhi fa] (shàn è zhī fǎ) (dharmas of good and evil) through this (fǎ qián dé). Because the power of good and evil dharmas is strong, they are already attained even prior to the Dharma's manifestation in the present or future. 無記法 [wu ji fa] (wú jì fǎ) (Indeterminate dharmas) are not subject to this attainment.
法前得—【術語】三種得之一。亦云牛王引前得。謂如車前牛行,能得立於前引所得之法來也。吾人得善惡之諸法,由此法前得。善惡之法以力強故,於法之現在位未來之前既得此法也。無記法者無得。
