二五食 [er wu shi]—The two groups of food, each of five kinds: bhojanīya, v. 蒲 [pu] cereals, fish, and flesh; and khādanīya, v. 佉 [qu] fruits and sweetmeats.

二五食 [er wu shi]—Two kinds of five foods—[Nomenclature] First, Pū-shé-ní (蒲闍尼 [pu du ni]), translated as "swallowed food" (噉食 [dan shi]). This has five kinds: namely cooked rice (飯 [fan]), parched flour/grain (麨 [chao]), dry staples (乾飯 [gan fan]), fish (魚 [yu]), and meat (肉 [rou]). Second, Qié-shé-ní (佉闍尼 [qu du ni]), translated as "chewed food" (嚼食 [jue shi]). This has five kinds: namely branches/shoots (枝 [zhi]), leaves (葉 [ye]), flowers (華 [hua]), fruits (果 [guo]), and finely ground food (細末食 [xi mo shi]).
