Ekadeśavikṛtanyāya (एकदेशविकृतन्याय).—The maxim that ' a thing is called or taken as that very thing although it is lacking in a part,'stated briefly as एकदेश-विकृतमनन्यवत् (ekadeśa-vikṛtamananyavat) Pari. Śek. Pari. 37. The maxim is given in all the different schools of grammar: cf. Śak Pari. 17: Cāndra Pari. 15, Kat. Par. Vr. l, Jain. Par.Vr.l l, Hem.Pari.7 etc.
