Eight Practices:—A technical term in Buddhism corresponding to the Sanskrit saṃskāra defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 119):

  1. Faith (śraddhā),
  2. Intelligence (buddha),
  3. Endeavour (vyāyāma),
  4. Calm (prasrabdhi),
  5. Mindfulness (smṛti),
  6. Full knowledge (samprajanya),
  7. Intention and equanimity (cetanopekṣā).

The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., ‘eight practices’). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
