Eight Bodhisattvas:—A technical term in Buddhism corresponding to the Sanskrit daśakrodha defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 12):

  1. Maitreya,
  2. Gaganagañja,
  3. Samantabhadra,
  4. Vajrapāṇī,
  5. Mañjuśrī,
  6. Sarvanivaraṇaviṣkambhī,
  7. Kṣitigarbha,
  8. Khagarbha.

The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., aṣṭabodhisattva, ‘eight Bodhisattvas’). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.
