Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationDūtavacas (दूतवचस्) refers to the “words of a messenger”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.15 (“The birth of Jalandhara and his marriage”).—Accordingly, after Jalandhara spoke to Indra: “On hearing the words of the messenger (dūtavacas), Indra, the lord of the gods, was bewildered. Remembering the previous incidents he was frightened as well as angry. He spoke to him thus. [...]”.
