Clive house in Dumdum in North 24 Parganas district is an excavated site revealing Kushan presence.—The A.S.I., Kolkata circle, has conducted excavation at Dumdum mound for consecuitive three years from 2001 to 2004, located on 22°25'30"north 22°37'45" east in Calcutta metropolis.

Some of the terracotta plaques and figurines bear close affinity with Sunga and Kushan style. Excavations at Dumdum has yielded some terracotta objects which bear unmistakable trait of Kushan art and can be comparable with the similar findings from other parts of Bengal. The terracotta plaque of two fighting elephants, stamped toy carts, horse head with elaborate ornamentation similar to that of Chandraketugarh, plaque of a graceful male riding on the elephant are the typical pieces which can be placed to the Kushan epoch i.e. 1st-2nd century A.D on stylistic consideration particularly noticed in increased vigor and suggestion of movement and boldness in the execution.
