2) Ḍūbanā (डूबना):—(v) to be drowned, to sink; to plunge, to be immersed/submerged; to set (as [sūraja]—); to be sullied or disgraced; [ḍūbate ko tinake kā sahārā] a drowning man catches at a straw; [ḍūba maranā] to drown out of disgrace; [ḍūbatī naiyā pāra lagānā] to resurrect a sinking boat/ship; [ḍūbā huā], ([āpādamastaka/coṭī taka]) over head and ears.
