Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationDīyamāna (दीयमान) refers to “being offered (by the gods)”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.34 (“The Story of Anaraṇya”).—Accordingly, as Vasiṣṭha said to Himavat (Himācala): “The king Anaraṇya hailed from the race of the fourteenth Manu Indrasāvarṇi, The great king Anaraṇya, born of Maṅgalāraṇya was very strong. He was a special devotee of Śiva and ruled over the seven continents. Having Bhṛgu as his priest he performed a hundred sacrifices. He did not accept the position of Indra even when offered (dīyamāna) by the gods. [...]”.
The Purana (पुराण, purāṇas) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India’s vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.
