Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA monastery in Ceylon, in which lived Mahanama Thera (Cv.xxxix.42). Geiger thinks (Cv.Trs.i.48, n.1) that Dighasana is very probably a wrong reading for Dighasanda.
Theravāda is a major branch of Buddhism having the the Pali canon (tipitaka) as their canonical literature, which includes the vinaya-pitaka (monastic rules), the sutta-pitaka (Buddhist sermons) and the abhidhamma-pitaka (philosophy and psychology).
