Dhuṣ (धुष्).—A short term for धातु (dhātu) or root.See धुट्, धूमादि (dhuṭ, dhūmādi) a class of words headed by the word धूम (dhūma) to which the tad.affix अक (aka) (वुञ् (vuñ)) is added in the miscellaneous(शैषिक (śaiṣika)) senses; e. g. धौमकः खाण्डकः (dhaumakaḥ khāṇḍakaḥ) etc.; cf Kas. on P.IV.2.127.
