The loc. case, dhārakaśīṃ, in construction with dharaṇēṃ, is the general form: sometimes dhārakaśī as nominative, with karaṇēṃ and sīṃ of o. is met with. The phrase dhārakaśīṃ dharaṇēṃ then is To draw over an edge; to subject to severe trial or hard proof; to worry, weary, wear, try. Ex. pōrānēṃ khāūkaritāṃ malā phāraca dhārakaśīṃ dharalēṃ. dhārakaśīṃ ghālaṇēṃ-ṭākaṇēṃ-ḍhakalaṇēṃ-dēṇēṃ-lāvaṇēṃ-sōḍaṇēṃ To cast into jeopardy or peril, or into extreme difficulty, embarrassment, or trouble.
