dhāṇḍōḷaṇēṃ (धांडोळणें).—v c (Or dhuṇḍāḷaṇēṃ. From ḍhuṇḍhanaṃ S) To search narrowly; to ransack; to rummage. This verb agrees indifferently with the object or the subject of the search--with the article missing or wanted, or with the house, box, papers &c. explored. Ex. ghara dhāṇḍuḷalēṃ, gāṃva dhāṇḍuḷa- lā, ḍāginā dhāṇḍuḷalā, ḍabī dhāṇḍuḷalī; also dhāṇḍōḷōni āvaśyaka || sītāśuddhi karāvī ||.
