Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarydhakāvaṇēṃ (धकावणें).—v i (dhakā) To receive a concussion, shock, jog, jolt, lit. fig.; to sustain damage, detriment, loss; to be spoiled, impaired, injured. The figurative use is the common use. Ex. rōja- gāra -vyavahāra -udīma -cākarī -adhikāra -dhakāvalā. 2 To sustain or undergo (i. e. be carried away by) the sweep or force of a stream--a boat, a swimmer. 3 fig. To fail, falter, yield, sink, give way.
