dhaḍakaṇēṃ (धडकणें).—v i (dhaḍaka) To blaze up: also to burn brightly and glowingly--fire, a lamp. 2 fig. To be intensely hot--the body in fever: to be inflamed--lust, anger. 3 To palpitate or flutter. 4 To proceed rapidly, to post. 5 To go off with a sudden and loud report--a gun. 6 To dash against with a bump or shock. dhaḍakūna (the participle in ūna) is used with verbs much in the manner of dhaḍaka the adverb.
