By some a distinction is made and an order assumed: dēvarūṣī (as likewise dēvabhaktyā is restricted to him who understands and treats possession or visitation from a god; dēvalaśī deals with cases ascribed to demons or fiends; and vaidya addresses himself to maladies viewed as purely physical.
