Devapuram.—Siripuram Plates of Anantavarman mention the city of Devapuram, As suggested by Srinivasa Rao, it may be identified with one of the two Zamindari villages—one named Devad in the Srungavarapukota taluq of the Visakhapatnam district and the other named Devadi in ihe Srikakulam taluq of the district of the same name. Devapuram was the capital of Anantavarman. It is possible that Devapuram gave the name to the kingdom of Deva-rāṣṭra,which is mentioned in the Allahabad pillar inscription of Samudragupta.
