From Chapter 67 (第六七回 [di liu qi hui]) of Bizarre Happenings Eyewitnessed Over Two Decades (二十年目睹之怪現狀 [er shi nian mu du zhi guai xian zhuang]): "Moreover, you are an innocent and law-abiding citizen (清白良民 [qing bai liang min]). If he were to apply the criminal law (刑法 [xing fa]) for dealing with local ruffians and hooligans (流氓 [liu mang]) to you, that would damage your reputation (名譽 [ming yu]), and you could even make him pay compensation!" Also known as "local thug" (地棍 [de gun]).
