dautapujā (दौतपुजा).—f Worship of the dauta or inkstand, by shroffs, on the divāḷī. Three goddesses mahā- lakṣmī, mahāsarasvatī, mahākāḷī are worshiped through their respective symbols, viz. sōnēṃ money, vahī the tradesman's book, and, with that profane fancifulness which ever accompanies idolatry, dauta the black inkstand. 2 (Rent just sufficient to require the dipping of the pen into the dauta to keep account of it.) Nominal rent.
