大樹 [da shu]—Great Tree — [Analogy (譬喻 [pi yu])] The great tree among the three grasses and two woods (三草二木 [san cao er mu]). The Tiantai (天台 [tian tai]) school considers the Bodhisattvas (菩薩 [pu sa]) of the Separate Teaching (別教 [bie jiao]) as the great tree. The Faxiang (法相 [fa xiang]) school considers Bodhisattvas on the grounds (地上 [de shang]) as the great tree. The Sanlun (三論 [san lun]) school considers Bodhisattvas from the eighth ground (八地 [ba de]) onwards as the great tree.
