Ind., Vol. XXIX, p. 101); Od8iyā; a governor; same as Sanskrit Daṇḍaparīkṣaka as well as Daṇda- nāyaka of other inscriptions; governor of a daṇḍapāṭa or province. Note: daṇḍaparīkṣā is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
