Ex. bhōgīndrācēṃ phaṇīmaṇḍaḷa || vaṭabījabhārēṃ daḍapilēṃ ||. 2 To keep under; to bring into subjection: also to oppress. 3 fig. To smother or suppress (an affair, failings &c.) daḍapūna is used in construction with numerous verbs of very differing signification, conveying the sense of Force, smartness, fullness, utterness; as daḍapūna-ghālaṇēṃ-bharaṇēṃ-basaviṇēṃ To cram or stuff; daḍapūna-paḷaṇēṃ-dhāvaṇēṃ-cālaṇēṃ-hākaṇēṃ To run, go, or drive smartly; daḍapūna-jēvaṇēṃ-khāṇēṃ-piṇēṃ To eat or drink to the full; daḍapūna-nijaṇēṃ-paḍaṇēṃ To lie muffled or well covered up.
