大有 [dà yǒu] [da you]—
1. A name of a hexagram (卦名 [gua ming]) in the I Ching (易經 [yi jing]). One of the sixty-four hexagrams (六十四卦 [liu shi si gua]). Qian (乾 [gan]) (☰) is below and Li (離 [li]) (☲) is above, symbolizing great abundance and prosperity.
2. An abundant harvest year. From the Tang (唐 [tang]) Dynasty poet Chu Guangxi's (儲光羲 [chu guang xi]) poem "Watching the Dragon Boat Race" (觀競渡 [guan jing du]): "Can make autumn greatly abundant, drums and horns urge from afar."
3. Greatly having; very much possessing. From Chapter 64 of "Dream of the Red Chamber" (紅樓夢 [hong lou meng]): "I saw Daiyu (黛玉 [dai yu]) lying sideways facing inwards, her sick body languid, greatly appearing to be unable to bear it."
大有:1.易經卦名。六十四卦之一。乾(☰)下離(☲)上,為盛大豐有之象。
2.年歲豐收。唐.儲光羲〈觀競渡〉詩:「能令秋大有,鼓吹遠相催。」
3.非常具有。《紅樓夢》第六四回:「只見黛玉面向裡歪著,病體懨懨,大有不勝之態。」
