大寶海 [da bao hai]—(dà bǎo hǎi) — [術語 [shu yu] (shù yǔ)] A sea that produces immeasurable treasures. The 淨土論 [jing tu lun] (Jìngtǔ Lùn) states: "Contemplating the power of the Buddha's original vow, those who encounter it will not pass in vain, enabling them to quickly fulfill the great sea of 功德 [gong de] (gōng dé)." The 教行信證 [jiao xing xin zheng] (Jiào Xíng Xìn Zhèng) Volume 2 states: "Returning to the great sea of merit and virtue, one will surely gain entry into the number of the 大會眾數 [da hui zhong shu] (dà huì zhòng shù)."
