大寶 [da bao]—Dà Bǎo — A term that refers to taking the Dharma (法 [fa]) as the great treasure. The Lotus Sutra (法華經 [fa hua jing]), Chapter on Faith and Understanding, says: "The Dharma King's (法王 [fa wang]) great treasure naturally arrives." It also refers to taking Bodhisattvas (菩薩 [pu sa]) as the great treasure. The Lotus Sutra, Chapter on Parables, says: "Why is it called 'Adorned with Great Treasures'? Because in that land, Bodhisattvas are taken as the great treasures." Furthermore, it is another name for a Homa altar (護摩壇 [hu mo tan]).
大寶—【術語】以法為大寶也。法華經信解品曰:「法王大寶自然而至。」又以菩薩為大寶也。法華經譬喻品曰:「何故名曰大寶莊嚴?其國中以菩薩為大寶故。」又護摩壇之異名。

打包 [da bao]—(dǎ bāo) - [Miscellaneous term] A bundle (包裹 [bao guo]) carried by an itinerant monk (行腳僧 [xing jiao seng]). Lu You's poem says: "The monk with his bundle hurries at the sound of the temple tower bell."
打包—【雜語】行腳僧身負之包裹也。陸游詩曰:「打包僧趁寺樓鐘。」

褡包 [dā bāo] [da bao]—
A type of long cloth bag (長形布袋 [zhang xing bu dai]). See the entry for "搭連 [da lian]". From Chapter 4 of The Story of Heroic Sons and Daughters (兒女英雄傳 [er nu ying xiong chuan]): "On top, he wore a single, tight-fitting garment (單緊身兒 [dan jin shen er]) with a pipa-collar (琵琶襟 [pi pa jin]) made of blue cloth, and outside the tight-fitting garment (緊身兒 [jin shen er]), he tied a Henan (河南 [he nan]) "搭包 [da bao]" (dābāo)."

大寶 [dà bǎo] [da bao]—
1. Extremely valuable treasure.
《Sanguozhi (Records of the Three Kingdoms)》, Volume 21, 'Book of Wei: Biography of Wei Ji' (《三國志 [san guo zhi].卷二一 [juan er yi].魏書 [wei shu].衛覬傳 [wei ji chuan]》): "Salt, indeed, is a great treasure of the state."
《Wen Xuan (Selections of Refined Literature)》, 'Western Expedition Rhapsody' by Pan Yue (《文選 [wen xuan].潘岳 [pan yue].西征賦 [xi zheng fu]》): "Only life and position are called great treasures."
