Source: Pali Kanon: Pali Proper NamesA Damila chief of South India who fought against the forces of Parakkamabahu 1. but was later subdued (Cv.lxxvi.185, 217, 220, 305). The name is closely connected with that of the districts of Kancakudiya and Kancakudiyaraja (Cv.lxxvi.124, 130).
