Codyadharma (चोद्यधर्म) refers to “knowledge regarding dialectic”, having its roots in the four Vedas, according Mahāprajñāpāramitāśāstra (chapter IV). Accordingly, at the time of the Buddha, the knowledge regarding dialectic (codyadharma) was commonly exchanged between Brahmins and cow-herders.
