Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarycipaṇēṃ (चिपणें).—v c (Vulgar for cēpaṇēṃ) To press or squeeze. Yet there are some uses of the verb in this form not so common to it in the other; as To press together (the feet in preparing to leap); to press the dice in casting them; ghasā cisaṇēṃ g. of s. To lose one's voice; ḍōḷē guvānēṃ cipaṇēṃ g. of s. To have one's eyes closed through copious mucus; tōṇḍa cipa! Close the mouth together! ḍōḷē cipa! kāna cipa! nāka cipa! hātānēṃ cipa! Press the finger before the mouth (as in signing or hinting to any one).
