The word churi may be the same as kṣurikā, ‘a knife’, and a Churikāra may have been an officer in charge of the production of knives and swords. Note: churi-prabandha is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
