赤肉團上 [chi rou tuan shang]—"" (chì ròu tuán shàng) refers to being on the fleshly body (肉體 [rou ti]). It can also mean a person's physical heart (肉團心 [rou tuan xin]). Linji Yixuan (臨濟義玄 [lin ji yi xuan]) said: "On the red flesh mass (赤肉團 [chi rou tuan]), there is a true person of non-action (無為真人 [wu wei zhen ren])." (See Jingde Chuandeng Lu (傳燈錄 [chuan deng lu]), Chapter 12, Yixuan).
赤肉團上—【雜語】肉體之身上也。又謂人之肉團心。臨濟義玄語云:「赤肉團上,有一無為真人。」見傳燈錄十二義玄章。
