India history and geography
Source: Shodhganga: a concise history of Sanskrit Chanda literature (history)Chandovārttikarāja (छन्दोवार्त्तिकराज) is the name of a work ascribed to Gambhīrarāya Bhāratī (17th century), famous for his learning, character, intellect and wealth. Also see the “New Catalogus Catalogorum” V.311 and VII. p. 106. Chandovārttikarāja or Vārttikarāja is the metrical composition of Gambhīrarāya. The text is not available now. His elder son Sakhārāma quotes this text in his commentary Choṭīvṛtti on Chandaśśāstra of Piṅgala as one of the source and that is the only reference to claim his authorship on Chandovārttikarāja. Sakhārāma says in Choṭīvṛtti that: he is composing the Choṭīvṛtti by collecting the sayings of his father and younger brother from their Vārttikarāja and Bhāṣyarāja respectively.
The history of India traces the identification of countries, villages, towns and other regions of India, as well as mythology, zoology, royal dynasties, rulers, tribes, local festivities and traditions and regional languages.
