All are places born from the practice of meditative concentration (禪定 [chan ding]), hence they are called Chan Heavens (禪天 [chan tian]). Its First Chan Heaven (第一禪天 [di yi chan tian]) further comprises three heavens: the first is Mahābrahmā Heaven (大梵天 [da fan tian]), the second is Brahmā-purohita Heaven (梵輔天 [fan fu tian]), and the third is Brahmā-pāriṣadya Heaven (梵眾天 [fan zhong tian]). These three heavens are collectively called Chan Brahma Heavens.
