Source: HereNow4u: Jain Dharma ka Maulika Itihasa (2)Chadmasta (छद्मस्त) refers to the “imperfect stage or prior to 12th stage of spiritual purification, when absolute knowledge was not yet attained”.—Lord Mahāvīra during his “Chadmasta” time, performed a very long penance with a very severe pre-condition for breaking the fast (abhigraha) and broke the fast, accepting food from the hands of Candana Bālā.
