Catuṣ-kaṇṭaka-viśuddha.—(EI 23), cf. catura-aghāṭa-viśuddha; probably refers to the custom of demarcating a plot of land by planting thorny shrubs on the borders. Note: catuṣ-kaṇṭaka-viśuddha is defined in the “Indian epigraphical glossary” as it can be found on ancient inscriptions commonly written in Sanskrit, Prakrit or Dravidian languages.
