cāṭaṇēṃ (चाटणें).—v c ( H) To lick. 2 fig. To graze, rase, lick--as a ball, bullet, arrow. cāṭalēṃ āṇi bāṭalēṃsēṃ hōṇēṃ To suffer all the penalties of transgression after a mere smack of the pleasures. cāṭūna pusūna jēvaṇēṃ To make an indifferent meal (being forced to lick the dishes). Also cāṭūna pusūna khāṇēṃ To eat up all; to clear the decks. cāṭūna pusūna nēṇēṃ To strip or spoil utterly: (quasi to lick and wipe clean.)
