Source: Wisdom Library: Dharma-samgrahaCārugāmi (चारुगामि) or Cārugāmitā refers to “a beautiful stride” and represents the sixteenth of the “eighty secondary characteristics” (anuvyañjana) as defined in the Dharma-saṃgraha (section 83). The Dharma-samgraha (Dharmasangraha) is an extensive glossary of Buddhist technical terms in Sanskrit (e.g., cāru-gāmi). The work is attributed to Nagarguna who lived around the 2nd century A.D.

In Tibetan, the characteristic called Cārugāmī is known as ‘mdzes par gshegs pa’. The Sukhāvatī represents a prayer for rebirth which was composed by Karma chags med, a Karma bka’ brgyud master, who lived in the seventeenth century.
