Cāritraśīlagaṇi (चारित्रशीलगणि) is the name of an ancient teacher belonging to the añcalagaccha.—[...] Khīmāī’s religious behaviour and piety are described in literary terms. She acted at the instigation of a monk, whose lineage and sectarian affiliation are mentioned: Hemaśīlagaṇi, disciple of Cāritraśīlagaṇi, himself disciple of Kīrtimerusūri. They all belonged to the añcalagaccha. This group is headed by a single Ācārya. But his name is not mentioned here.
