Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarCaṅgudāsa (चङ्गुदास).—(or चाड्गुदास (cāḍgudāsa)) a scholar of grammar who has written an independent work on Sanskrit Vyakaana called वैयाकरणजीवातु (vaiyākaraṇajīvātu). The treatise is also known as चाङ्गुसूत्र (cāṅgusūtra) or चाङ्गु-व्याकरण (cāṅgu-vyākaraṇa).

Cāṅgudāsa (चाङ्गुदास).—The same as चङ्गु (caṅgu) or चाङ्गु (cāṅgu) or चङ्गुदास (caṅgudāsa),a grammarian who composed a compendium on grammar called वैयाकरणजीवातु (vaiyākaraṇajīvātu) and also a commentary on it.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
