Candacaritracaupaī (चन्दचरित्रचौपई) is the name of a work by Vidyāruci dealing with the lives of Jain teachers.—The Candacaritracaupaī (in Gujarati) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—This manuscript [of the Candacaritracaupaī] is much older than those mentioned in Jain gurjar Kavio. it was written only 55 years after the completion of the work. The composition was started in V. S. 1711 (1654 CE) in Bhinmāl (see end of chap. 1 and 2, here 13v1 and 34v11) and completed six years later, in VS 1717 (1660 CE) in Sirohī (see above).
