Cāmuṇḍabhairava (चामुण्डभैरव) is the consort of Carcikā, according to the Brahmayāmala-tantra verse 34.173ab.—Carcikā appears a few times in the Brahmayāmala as one of the Mothers or is linked to them. In one place her consort is Cāmuṇḍabhairava, reflecting her association with Cāmuṇḍā. This association is maintained in the Kubjikā Tantras. According to the Guhyasiddhi, out of the eight groups of eight Yoginīs related to the Mothers, Carcikā is amongst the Yoginīs associated with Cāmuṇḍā. She is the fifth amongst an unusual group of eight Mothers listed in the Yogakhaṇḍa. There, in a common group of eight Mothers she is the penultimate one and is associated with Cāmuṇḍā.
