1. Assemblage, collection, aggregate; கூட்டம். (சூடாமணிநிகண்டு) [kuttam. (sudamaninigandu)]
2. (Logic.) Intimate relation, as that of a genus and its species, quality and its object, a part and the whole, action and the agent, etc., one of six caṉṉikariṭam, q.v.; சன்னிகரிடம் ஆறனுள் சாதி வியக்திகட்கும், குணகுணிசட்கும், அவயவ அவயவிகட்கும், கருத்தா கருமங்கட்கும் உள்ள பிரிவில் லாச் சம்பந்தம். சமவாயமென்னும் வடமொழி தமிழில் நீக்கமின்றிநிற்றல் என மொழிபெயர்த்து வழங்கப் படும் [sannigaridam aranul sathi viyagthigadkum, kunagunisadkum, avayava avayavigadkum, karutha karumangadkum ulla pirivil las sambantham. samavayamennum vadamozhi thamizhil nikkaminrinirral ena mozhipeyarthu vazhangap padum] (சிவஞானபோதச் சிற்றுரை [sivagnanapothas sirrurai] 2, 4).
