Cakṣuḥśravas (चक्षुःश्रवस्) (lit. “hearing by sight”) refers to one of the names of a snake, according to the Ādiparva of the Mahābhārata, which gives a long list of serpents that were killed in the sarpasatra performed by king Janamejaya who wanted to avenge his father Parīkṣit’s death which was caused by the deadly Takṣaka.
