Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarycāḍēṃ (चाडें) [or ढें, ḍhēṃ].—n The saucer-form vessel of a samaī (lamp-stand) which holds the oil and wicks: also the vessel below, which receives the drippings. 2 The similarly-formed drilled seed-box of a drill-plough. cāḍyāvara mūṭha or cāḍēṃ mūṭha dharaṇēṃ To begin to sow. Hence To begin gen. cāḍēṃ mūṭha lāgaṇēṃ-cālaṇēṃ &c. expresses the being begun, or the going on, of sowing.
